DESCRIPTION AND DETAILS OF PROJECT:


Tweed Heads GP Super Clinic is a $ 7 million dollar Federal Government Funded project. The Federal Government has committed to the provision of a number of ‘GP Super Clinics’ to strengthen the national primary health care system. GP Super Clinics are intended to provide a greater focus on health promotion and illness prevention and better coordination between General Practitioners (GPs) and allied health services, community health and other State and Territory funded services.

The proposed development includes the construction and operation of a GP Super Clinic within a single storey building, along with associated at grade car parking for 81 vehicles, loading facilities and landscaping.

DAC Planning Pty Ltd was part of the Project Team together with Fulton Trotter Architects. The GP Super Clinic will provide patients with access to care from GPs, nurses, allied health professionals and visiting medical specialists. Services will include a general practice, psychology, physiotherapy, radiology, diabetes education, dietetics, podiatry, with an emphasis on chronic disease care and preventive activities, mental health care nursing, exercise physiology, occupational therapy, asthma education, dental, pathology, a social worker and an Aboriginal health worker. The clinic will also house a pharmacy.
